Seven hills but not in Rome? You just in Vilnius have to roam!

Yes! That's true. Not only in Rome but also in Vilnius, the  capital of Lithuania, you can climb up seven hills. Being on the top, you will have the incredible opportunity to have a look at the Old town of Vilnius from above. Definitely an adventure you should add to your ERASMUS Experience!




How to get there?



You can reach each of the hills using Google maps! It depends where you want to start and from which direction are you coming. 

Important advice
Put on your most comfortable shoes - a challenging tour is expecting you! If you really like doing some sport in the nature, we advice you to climb all seven hills on one day!




               The Hills



One hill you see with astound'
a grave of meaning to be found,

for Gediminas shall rest there,
of whom a story we want to share.
Exhausted from hunting, he wandered around
and after no friendly soul to be found,
sunk worn out onto the ground,
and in his dreams he heard that sound:
a wolf crying like thousands loud,
as when furious women shout.
And on this hill that marked his mind,
he built a castle that would bind
him always to Lithuanian kind.
A river crossed but quite related
the Bekesh hill is situated
which as a fore spot do present
a slightly upward shaping land.
You find here old town's highest spot
and you are now right on the top.
Where three white crosses just express
the pagan-belief caused distress.
Three christian fighters were then killed
remembrance to whose blood was spilled.
Three more hills just to explore,
we never have been there before.
Table, Altana and Mound
these too have to be re-found.
