Time traveling in Elektrenai

You did not travel in the time but you have always wanted to try it? This is your lucky day! You can do it in Elektrenai - a small city near the capital of Lithuania. Definitely a place you should add to your ERASMUS Experience!

How to get there?

The easiest way to go there from Vilnius is by bus. There are regular connections. The ticket price for students is just 2 EUR  and 4 EUR for adults for a one way.  There is even WiFi in the bus, so the less-than-hour-trip will not be boring. When you want to come back to Vilnius, there are buses every 20 mins from there (depends on the day).

Note:Do not forget your student card! (Also it is better for you to buy your ticket from the bus driver because purchasing it on the info-cash desk they probably will want a document which verifies that you live in Vilnius and maybe no one takes this one with himself on a one-day trip.)

Where to eat?

There is Hesburger and supermarkets (Iki, Lidl and a big Norfa), if you are hungry. Otherwise you may bring your homemade sandwiches and you can make a picnic next to the reservoir (if the weather is warm enough).

What to see?

Your target spot should be the old Amusement Park left since the period of the Soviet Union. There are some attractions which are out of order now. Also you have to know that the park is closed. But don't be disappointed! This is your chance to feel the past. Being on this place you notice a lot of details and the whole feeling is speechless. You just have to enjoy the trip to the past.

Maybe there are also other things in the city which have to be seen but the main one is this park. Feel free to share your experience with us!

Important advice:
Be careful during your time in the Amusement Park because the attractions are very old and do not take into account dangerous things!

You want to go to The Amusement Park in Eletrenai and you have more questions, just ask in the comments! Or if  you already have had your ERASMUS Experience with the seven hills and you want to share your advice, feel free to comment! We would like to learn more about the city from you!
